The Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Research Institute, established in June 2011 and headquartered in Shanghai, has R&D centers located in Beijing, Chongqing, Hefei, Liuzhou, Dalian, Xiamen, Suzhou, Wuhan, and other cities. It is home to several provincial and municipal-level technology centers, with more than 350 engineering and technical personnel.

     The institute has established an Academician Expert Workstation and a New Energy Vehicle Air Conditioning Engineering Technology Research Center. It maintains long-term industry-university-research cooperation with institutions such as Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and the Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry, CAS. The focus is on achieving breakthroughs and innovations in key technological advancements, industrial process development, high-end talent cultivation, and academic exchanges.
